grabeh...the viets are really nice...*sniff*...

there's this major project kasi that's giving me a headache plus add mo pa the not-so-nice boss factor...super daming analysis kelangan so had to run several sets of data...

so i could meet the deadline, some people from our data processing department agreed to work on saturday and sunday...and sobrang obvious na no grudges/bad feeling or anything...i should know, im quite sensitive to that- i guess one becomes more sensitive to non-verbal language if one is in a foreign land (or is it if one is a foreigner in a country? anyways.)...

basta this is one of the good things about vietnamese people talaga...must be because of the "community" spirit that is instilled in them...

Hi.

Something unexpected happened to me yesterday. I was contacted by the organization that I worked with for two months for an interview yesterday. All along I thought it was for an exit interview kasi I just finished my work for them last January 31. Yun pala my former boss recommended me to his two other colleagues looking for a technical assistant. So yesterday I was interviewed by these two consultants regarding the position and I think that they are desperate to get one na. I was so unprepared during the interview na nakakahiya talaga. Anyways, I think I?m gonna turn it down. The job is pwede na rin kasi its interesting naman. It?s an organization that works to empower the civil society. Kaya lang I am not available kasi I am on a tight deadline to finish my school work para makahabol sa graduation and they need me to start asap. Aside from that, the pay is low. I earned more than that when I was still working full time 2 years ago. At that time, wala pa akong MA. Hopefully, I?ll be able to finish my degree this March. They told me naman na I am overqualified for the position. I have until tomorrow to decide but I?m 70% sure na I?ll turn it down and I have never turned down a job offer before. So how should I do it? Should I explain myself why I am turning it down? Is it ok to tell them by phone or should I talk to them personally? A friend suggested thru email na lang daw. Kaso nahihiya ako to turn them down kasi I like these people. They seem nice to work with.

hi con! may friendster ka ba? say, di ko ba sagutin ang job offer question mo? chux!

i think it's ok to tell them through email, para less the awkwardness. it would be harder if you tell them in person, kasi may non-verbal reaction. it's better not to see those, so you won't feel bad. just tell them that getting an MA is your priority right now, even much more important than finding the one. chux.

hi con,
agree with marlon...but if you think you can (and really want the job), perhaps you can negotiate the salary...like tell them your minimum acceptable salary (for their consideration) and ur availability issue (na u'r still finishing ur MA)...and shempre justify your price i.e. talk about ur MA and work experience etc.

Yes marlon i have a friendster account. friend ako nina glo and cherryl.

Anyways, thanks guys for the advice. Mas ok nga siguro kung email na lang. Kaso I was not able to get their email address. Kainis!
