samahan ng mga magaganda or something like it...

Monday, June 19, 2006

Hi guys.

I have to ask your advice. I am trying to enter the field of finance and investment. Pero ang hirap makapasok dahil they always ask for experience. although tapos ko na ang MA ko, whenever I apply for position in that field, nililipat ako ng HR sa corporate research kasi yun yung work experience ko. I don't know what to do anymore. How should I deal with this kaya. Baka meron naman kayong similar experience, pashare naman.

hi con! been there, done that (in a similar way)...remember i used to be a writer for this business mag; it was a bit hard for me to convince the publishing people that i could write because i did not have writing experience kasi background ko nga is management (my course in college) tas sa banking industry pa first job ko...

anyways, what i did was say that i really wanted a career shift and why i wanted it- this shows them how determined you are...also, i tried to highlight any experiences (no matter how trivial it may seem) that is related to the job- this shows them na there is a fit sa skills mo and the position...for instance, ako sabi ko i used to write for our company's newsletter or that my business/banking background would be helful in comprehending the business world/terms etc...

so yun, good luck! and dont settle for anything less than what you really want!

keep us updated!
