holy week '09

medyo delayed posting pero kahit na, gusto kong i-share eh. good friday, gigi, kathy and i went to manaoag in pangasinan for gigi's healing trip (because 'j' went to siquijor for his 'alone time'). tapos, kathy and gigi went swimming sa caraballo resort. because i didn't bring swimsuit hindi na ko nakipagpatalbugan sa swimsuit competition nila at nasiyahan na kong maging dakilang photograper.

then black saturday, athena people went to jason's resthouse in jalajala, rizal. super nice ng place nila...malinis ang hangin...a few steps away from the laguna lake (as in! tapos pag high tide abot sa malapit sa pinto nila yung tubig!)...pwedeng bumili ng fresh fish galing mismo sa lake...may atv (see photo!)...ang daming pagkain...and the best thing about the this trip eh libre lahat! hahaha! syempre, because it was holy week we dropped by an old church in Baras, Rizal (St. Joseph)...happy!

kathy's _th bday!

last friday, may 15, kathy celebrated her _th birthday at agave restaurant in eastwood. early birds were ako, mia and ms. nancy (syempre 2mins away lang yung office namin). other guests were grace (kathy's hs friend), otche, marlon, dem, dan (former officemates), sir lito, glenda, and gigi. happy naman sana ang mexican theme kung lahat nagdamit for the occasion. pero wala pa sa kalahati ang sumunod sa theme. anyway, dem got the first prize (gc from starbucks) and i got the 2nd prize (a bag accessory and cologne). we had fun drinking margarita (siguro mga 6 pitchers all in all ang in-order namin) and platters of mexican pica-pica. sad to say, walang nalasing. kulang yata yung alcohol dun sa margarita. anyway, happy birthday ulit kathy and thanks for the treat! :)

Before we got married, Mark and I once talked about his past loves.

He and I worked in the same school when we got together and it was no secret that he used to go out with this petite girl, "L."
"L" was another grade school teacher and Mark said he was seriously considering her for quite some time before he built up courage to ask her out. When Boyz II Men announced that they were going to have a Valentine's concert in Manila, he found a reason to finally ask her out on a date.

To cut the story short, Mark found out during the date that they had nothing in common. Because of the absence of a common ground, the silence between them was so loud it was unbearable.

As the Boyz II Men would say, after that date, Mark and "L" "came to the end of the road..."

I am happy to say that Mark and I never run out of topics to talk about, even until now :)

bebe, lagot ka, bakit mo pinost!??? chuks! at least someone from the group has something exciting in his life. i haven't heard any chika about A for some time now...siguro nakaalis na to Canada...at naka-move on na si M...what's next? abangan...

omg, belinds!!! i saw this news on tv... i just didn't hear the name of the pilot so i didn't know he was your brother. ang sabi sa news medyo ninerbyos daw yung student pilot according to the instructor so naisadsad nya yung plane. so ang nangyari may mga flights na na-delay kasi nga nakaharang sa runway yung plane. hahaha, nakakaluka, kapatid mo pala yun. well, at least he's in the news, win! :)

Black Monday

Yehey, naadd na rin ako sa blog na ito. And for my first entry, eto ang story ni M as requested by Cherryl (with minor edit).

Part 1 April 13

gays,

for those who are wishing (and praying) na mag-end na kami ni A,
i believe the universe has just semi-granted your wish.
semi-granted kasi A and i are still ok,
except he's migrating to canada with his family soon.
nag-submit na sya ng resignation letter the week i left for japan.
today lang nya sinabi sa akin kasi ayaw pa nyang maguluhan sa decision nya.

nag-file daw sila ng application noong 2002, and last march lang daw na-approve.
hindi daw nya na-expect that the canadian government would require him
to be physically in canada before june 2009, or else lose the citizenship.

nag-terminal leave na sya and last day na nya sa office this friday, april 17.
he tried to extend to next year yung deadline pero di na daw pwede.
mauuna sya don with his dad and susunod next year yung brother and mom nya.
he's still trying to convince his wife to give up their life here in manila,
and kung maging successful sya sa pag-convince, susunod sila ng baby nya don.

we still have a planned trip to phuket this july and sabi nya,
once he gets his residence card, he will return to manila this july so we can take the trip.
but i told him never to make any promise he can't keep.

wag daw ako maging malungkot dahil hindi naman daw sya mamamatay,
kasi nasa canada lang naman daw sya.
pero parang ako ang mamamatay sa binalita nya ngayong araw na to.

Part 2 - April 14

don't worry guys (side comment: as if nagworry ang lahat! chux), nag-usap kami ni A this morning.
2 hrs kami nasa starbucks kanina.
sabi nya, wala naman daw syang feelings for me.
i was nothing but a friend to him, like any other officemate.
sabi nya lahat daw ng ginawa nya, walang malisya.
na-shock ako with what i heard.
i asked him if he's saying these things for me to move on easily.
hindi daw, yun daw talaga ang totoo.

during lunch, i told him that i'm hurt with the things he said,
although i have no regrets sa nangyari sa past.
ganon lang pala ako sa kanya, and yet he did those things for me.
and then he explained, he's not the type na masalita or ma-explain.
he was insinuating that i should read between the lines.
he told me na ako ang una nyang sinabihan na magre-resign na sya,
except for his team lead and manager.
sabi nya, what does that tell you?
sabi ko, sabihin mo sa akin directly so i'll understand.
sabi nya, he can't say it kasi hindi sya ganon.
sabi ko, ako na lang magtatanong -- iba ba ako from the rest?
sabi nya, ang kulit ko daw, but the answer is yes.
and that made all the pain and hurt worth it.

i'm praying that things will now get better from here on.

because i had nothing to do yesterday here at the office, i remembered meron nga pala tayong blog site which started 2002 pa. this started as a way of communicating with marlon while he was in the US of A. and dahil wala nga akong magawa super read ako ng mga posts since the very beginning and they made me realize how different all our lives now.

belinda is already in new york (she was contemplating pa if she would go to vietnam last 2002) and will soon get married to joe. lani is presently studying in japan (most of her past posts were about mark carioca pa! hahaha! she was still regularly teaching in miriam circa 2002) and an entrepreneur. marlon is currently mending a broken heart (maybe he should read some of his posts here para naman sumaya sya, hehe!). shiela is missing in action for the past couple of years (we met her last february when belinda was here pero super madali lang...meron ding bago sa kanya pero sya na lang tanungin nyo). i'm still in the same office, still single, still looking for my one true love (aw!chuks!)... so hindi pala lahat ng buhay namin nagbago, hahaha.

anyway, sobrang daming katatawanan, katangahan, kagagahan, kalungkutan, katatakutan at kung anu-ano pa ang nabasa ko sa mga past entries (so far, pinakanaiyak ako sa kakatawa sa kwentong chicoy-na-akala-ni-shiela-eh-gusto-sya-yun-pala-bebentahan-lang-sya-ng-forever-living! pinasaya mo ko shiela). some of the names (mostly boylets) are no longer familiar (i even asked belinda who mr. habal is....si sonny pala! remember?). pero halos lahat ng events sobrang naaalala ko pa (as if they just happened yesterday, say?!).

sana all of us will continue to share our experiences here kasi believe me sobrang happy mag-reminisce!!!
